The June Meeting: If you missed the June meeting, you should know we
decided to have the July meeting on the third Saturday of the month (July 17). July 10th is the date of the New Bern show and
several of us are going up there. We had 15 people at the June meeting, including Roy's sister and niece.
It was nice to see them again. In fact, Roy's niece Haley Toole won the Model of the Month award for her Typhoon aircraft.
Great job Haley! Scott Stevens brought his Marder 2D and explained his modified cascade method of weathering. Chris Thomas had a
Japanese version of the German Comet aircraft. Both models were very nicely finished. Bill Garner gave everyone a demo on his
new German airbrush, which was very interesting. Next stop: New Bern.
The Next Meeting: The July meeting will be held on July 17. The club meeting is regularly held on the second Saturday of the month unless there is an unusual scheduling conflict such as this next meeting.

We enjoyed a different way of celebrating this year's model building. Instead of voting on the top 3 models of the entire year, we had a mini-contest with 8 categories.
Awards were given out to the top 3 finishers in each category. Gold Medals went to Chris Thomas, Dave Corvino, Bill Blackmore, Scott Stevens, and Vincent Marinucci.
Silver medals were awarded to Chris Thomas, Dave Corvino, Bill Garner, and Marion Miller. Bronze medals were awarded to Vic Nico, and Mouse Watson.

The next IPMS Region 12 contest is Models-a-Plenty, in Spartanburg, SC on June 12-13. It will be hosted by IPMS Spartanburg.
Wonderfest 2010 - Vinnie Marinucci and Chris Thomas attended Wonderfest 2010 in Louisville, KY. Vinnie entered 2 models in the contest and won a Gold and Bronze medal. Chris entered three models, and won a Gold, Bronze and Merit award.
