The January Meeting:Holy Action Figure Batman, did you see all those figure models!? Such was the reaction to all of the
figure kits displayed on the table this month. It, The Terror from Beyond Space, The Thing from Another World, Ash from Army of Darkness,
The Forgotten Prisoner, The Ymir and Cyclops from our favorite Ray Harryhausen movies, and Rodan. Oh yeah there were other types of models too! A Sherman tank built by Scott Stevens,
which by the way, won the Model of the Month award, and a German artillery piece, plus a few photo-etch accessoried kit parts. Not to mention the unopened kits that were available for review.
Quite a selection. Besides all the models, we discussed the JaxCon event next month. Because the contest is being held on the second Saturday (the 13th),
we will have our next club meeting on the the first Saturday, February 6. Also remember, club dues are due; $10.00 per person.
The Next Meeting: The February meeting will be held on February 6. The club meeting is regularly held on the second Saturday of the month unless there is an unusual scheduling conflict (such as February, because of JaxCon).

We enjoyed a different way of celebrating this year's model building. Instead of voting on the top 3 models of the entire year, we had a mini-contest with 8 categories.
Awards were given out to the top 3 finishers in each category. Gold Medals went to Chris Thomas, Dave Corvino, Bill Blackmore, Scott Stevens, and Vincent Marinucci.
Silver medals were awarded to Chris Thomas, Dave Corvino, Bill Garner, and Marion Miller. Bronze medals were awarded to Vic Nico, and Mouse Watson.
The Next Meeting: The February meeting will be held on February 6. The club meeting is regularly held on the second Saturday of the month unless there is an unusual scheduling conflict (such as February, because of JaxCon).

Events
For information regarding upcoming contests, there is a quick list on our Events page. More detailed information is available on the IPMS USA Home Page and on the individual host chapter's web sites. The next IPMS Region 12 contest is the Regionals in Sumter, SC on April 11-12. It will be hosted by the Sumter Gamecocks Model Club. But first up in 2010 will be JaxCon on February 13 in Jacksonville, FL. It will be hosted by IPMS First Coast.
